Saturday Update

Quite a few folks are out and about for this warm Saturday. Great to see all of you. Some favorites today at Contessa’s are Bath and Body products, jewelry, scarves and tea towels. So good to see all of you home from your various summer vacations. We will be here today till 8 pm. Stop by and say Hi.

Contessa’s Favorite Chair – Sold

Our beautiful “Channel Back” chair SOLD today. A lovely couple with a vintage home right near the Masonic Temple. We are thrilled for them, and so happy this awesome chair now has a home that appreciates it’s style and quality. We will miss it.

If you visit NY, you have to visit an Irish Pub

New York at it’s best! We had a Guiness here at this Irish Pub and a Lobster Cobb salad. Now back to the Javits Center for more shopping.   See you all on Thursday at Noon back at the shop.

Sunday’s Update at Contessa’s

Sunday, and we are open today from Noon to 5. Hope you can stop by in between rain showers.

Tomorrow at 6:30 am, we are off to the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF) at the Javits Convention Center/West 34th Street, and to Passenger Ship Terminal/Pier 92 and 94 at 55th and 12th Ave. We love this trip, as we get a chance to see so many new home/gift items. It’s our shopping strip for Fall/Winter, and 35,000 other retailers will be there with us. It is massive. We have made notes of things you have asked for, and we do try to find them.

Shenandoah Trip

We went to the Shenandoah this week and have found some new treasures for the shop. The highlight of our trip was Breakfast at Tina’s Restaurant with the local folk. Our host (C.J.) made this trip very special. She is generous, kind and knows her hills. It is a trip we will remember forever. We felt like the whole town welcomed us. They each came to meet and introduce themselves. So very friendly and Tina’s Restaurant was crowded. A full country breakfast was all of $4.00. What a deal!  Lots of trucks and motorcycles.

Shenandoah Valley Excursion

Off to the Shenandoah Valley tomorrow on a looking for mission. We are searching out “country” stuff. Check with us on Thursday for some new finds.
