Today we watched the Turkey Trot pass by and admired all those fit souls on this chilly, but glorious sunny day. It was a sight to see so many of you.

We are here and busy preparing for your arrival on Friday and Saturday.  Our shop is becoming a magical place and we love this preparation.  With our lovely music playing and all the lights flickering it’s a good thing at Contessa’s.

As We Approach Thanksgiving……

Contessa’s a traditional “retail” shop celebrates our Thanksgiving holiday.  We will, along with Nordstrom’s open our small shop on Friday, November 29th decorated for your holiday shopping.  We trust that you and yours will have a lovely Thanksgiving with friends and family.  Blessings!

Movie Announcement from Jack

Jack, wants to invite you to view the Oscar winning Skyfall, 007 at the Shirlington Branch of the Arlington Country Library, at 6:30 pm this evening, Tuesday, November 19th. And, he has replenished the bookshelves at the shop and there are several new additions. He would like to mention, that if you have gently read books he is happy to receive them.

Monday, November 18th

We are at Yoga today from Noon to 1:00 pm, soooooo we will OPEN at 1:30. Remember: we are here every day until 8 pm. We have lots of new things in the shop. Its going to be 60 today and sunny, so why not start shopping early in the week. We always look forward to seeing you. Today we will be hanging our garlands outside and preparing to get ready for the holiday shopping season.

“By Appointment” on Tuesdays

Contessa is in the shop today “by appointment.”  But, don’t let this stop you from coming by. Just knock or call ahead.  We are happy to open the door for you.  The reason we do this “by appointment’ thing on Tuesday, is that we have many projects to work on during the early part of each week. If you want to look around, today is a great day to come by and get ideas for the upcoming holidays.  By the way, once Thanksgiving arrives this year, we have one less week in our shopping season.  42 days until Christmas!
