The old  tree that was so tall and lovely died due to its embedded roots conflicting with a brick circular wall that surrounded it. The wall was probably built in about 1946. So……they had to remove the tree and the cement wall.  It was so sad to see it gone.

But, we have a new tree as of Nov 21st, Wednesday.  The new tree is approximately 25 ft tall,  a mere shrimp compared to the original tree, but it’s quite beautiful in shape. So thrilled to see it planted, before a deep frost in Virginia. And we will live watching it grow into its new space.

We were afraid that the cooler stretch of weather we have been having, would mean no tree lighting this year in the neighborhood, but alas, it looks like we may just be lighting the new tree this holiday season.

JOY, JOY…JOY!
