Good Morning gardeners…..word seems to have passed around on Mount Eagle Place. We are starting project #4 today at 11 am. This very secluded spot is owned by an Australian. He is accustomed to starting flowers from seed. He works from home and his area is fairly small, but it’s a very cozy, lovely spot. Full sun in the front, pm hours. His exact message to me:
I’d like to focus on natives or bee friendly plants which fit with the front (afternoon sun) and back (morning sun) – just to note: the back area is generally, dampish, wet and mossy.
So in anticipation of working with him this week we visited Merrifield Garden Center last week to scout out some native sun loving ground covers and a few native plants that are perennial to use as a background near his brick wall.

The garden bed spaces are sparsely populated, so amending the soil and trimming back some bushes will definitely help create a spot for some colorful native ground cover where full pm sun will help them thrive creating a low maintenance colorful addition.
We have no doubt he has ordered seeds, as we have dropped off a native seed catalog. Shortly, we will arrive to begin. A wonderful weather day to begin a new and different kind of project
Enjoy today’s glorious weather prediction SUN, yes full sun and about 82 degrees. So welcome!
