Philippians 4: 6 – 7

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Thanksgiving is that quiet holiday nestled between Halloween and Christmas that beckons us to slow down and reflect on God’s bountiful blessings. But with all the busyness of the surrounding holiday season, it is easy to become frazzled and anxious and miss the purpose and joy of the occasion.

In our scripture we are given the solution for our anxiousness and worry. We are to pray with thanksgiving. The promised result of such praying is that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds. So throughout this season, make sure to “call a time out” when stress comes, and pray with thanksgiving. When you do, you will discover a peace that surpasses all human understanding.

My God, my God….I give you my prayer this beautiful Thanksgiving Eve morning. I listen for and I honor all the peace and understanding that you bring to me. I am so thankful for your peace. I give you all my attention and my love right now. You alone know the way I should always go. Your guidance and your patience with me are never ending. I want to do all that is right. And I am eternally grateful that you created my path and you already know where I am to be. Your blessing of love is in my heart  I give my love freely and honestly. Please let the one I so dearly love, accept my love and return it to me in their best way. I am thankful for your LOVE and their LOVE.
