Contessa’s – Gardening Consultations, By Appointment

Spring is two months away. We have been retained by this Del Ray client to prepare a plan for front yard curb appeal/renovation of this home on Monroe Avenue.  They are currently on our schedule for April installation

ContessasHome LLC formerly Contessa’s (Garden and Gifts) retail store in Del Ray is accepting consulting/appointments for “Spring” gardening prep. We are listed and an approved vendor for the community of Park Fairfax under the trade name,  Contessa’s Garden. We have been doing ongoing work there since 2005.

You may remember our lovely “green space” adjacent to our store in Del Ray  We didn’t sell plants but our sense of design and knowledge of plant material is something we enjoy passing on. We are..,,…good at it

We are providing consults now in preparation for early April 2017 work. We are currently working with three Del Ray clients and would love to meet with you to help with plantings advice/selection and garden bed design.  We currently work in collaboration with a local family owned landscaping company.

Yoga – IT Bands Practice

UMW- Del Ray – 1st Quarter Business Meeting

On Sunday, Jan 8th the United Methodist Women of Del Ray joined together for a “bring-your-own-lunch” and 1st quarter business meeting.

Linda Hottle as President and Penny Spinney as Treasurer were the UMW officers in attendance

Discussions were “open forum” to make plans for fundraising projects and events during 2017. Our first event will be March 18th, our Irish Supper and Clothing drive for Guest House. Flyers will be distributed at the Saturday morning Pancake Breakfast about this event. Last years supper was a great success and we plan on the same this year. Oh and by the way, the food was yummy!!!

March 19th, we will have a UMW Business meeting that will include Prayer & Self Denial (no lunch) At this meeting we will discuss the Oktoberfest Dinner/Bake Sale and any other fundraising ideas. We will also set a date for our 3rd quarter business meeting which will be sometime in September, with our final time together in December for our Advent Luncheon.

April 8th cookie baking in Lunceford Hall (a true fellowship event)
April 9th cookie sale after Services

May 21st, UMW Sunday with speaker Mandy Sozer (Mother’s Day)
