Matthew 6:34

“Therefore, do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

▶︎ LISTEN TO THE DEVOTIONAL
Years ago, Spencer Johnson wrote a popular book called “The Present: The Secret to Enjoying Your Work and Life, Now.” His premise was that, to have a life that is effective, you have to learn how to be “fully present.” Most of us have trouble with that. We are too concerned about yesterday, even though we can’t do anything about it. Or we are too apprehensive about tomorrow. God provided a way for us to be “totally present” in every situation and every relationship. It is the Sabbath Principle.

We need to set aside one day in seven in which we shut things down. We don’t look backward; we don’t look forward. We look around at our family – our loved ones – and we look up to God. God provided this for us because we need it. If you want to see the hand, and feel the touch, of Almighty God in your life – Find “your Sabbath.”

The Holy Spirit is your Helper

“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to “you.”

John 16:7

When I think of the Holy Spirit, this is how I think of Him. God with us, helping and giving me the courage to live a full life. A life that follows the example of the goodness of God. I constantly realize that I need His divine and ever present help. My will and my flesh fights for control, and that’s when the Spirit steps in and helps me to be who my God created me to be.

When I are feeling powerless or tired or like i’m failing at life, I can have complete confidence as a believer, that I am not, nor will I ever be alone. I can start each day knowing the Holy Spirit is there to help me.  He is the power that sustains, energizes, and keeps me on a holy path. so I must not wait to call out to Him, and invite Him in. He is the only power that gives me true energy and keeps me on my holy path. Always and forevermore i will invite Him in.

Prayer
O’ Holy Spirit. I need thee, oh I need thee, every hour I need thee. As I am out and about today please be near me, and in me  I crave your divine protection. I am confidant that you are in me, with me and forever present to encourage me. I offer praise and thanksgiving for your spirit and presence in me. You alone fill my soul with your love and I am at total peace in You. Amen

REVISED – March 1, 11 am, Tuesday

O’ Holy Spirit….. I call out to you now at this moment to help me live a full life.  It is my first desire to be all that you have created me to be.  I give You all that I am….and all that I hope to  be. Thank you for being my helper.  Keep me on my straight path and help me to choose to he only the best I can be and to always follow the goodness of God.  Amen

A sunny windy and very chilly day. I walked this morning. So invigorating. If you are dressed well and have a stocking cap or warm hat – you are good. We love the sky. Bright blue with puffy cumulus clouds…..but you can definitely feel a strong bite in the air today. Still, we love being outdoors breathing in Gods beauty. It fills your lungs with hope. Breath it…in.

We wish to express our gratitude today for great love in our personal life, the security of having a good meal, being warm and “sharing.” It is the season for giving. And we shall. So many….without right now. It can be the best feeling to give in silence.

Our devotional today is about having a cheerful heart. We trust that  “with or without” we can all feel an inner joyful spirit as we are confidant in knowing that Jesus Christ is the “light and the warmth” of our lives.

*********************

Romans 8:39

Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ our Lord.

*********************
A cheerful heart is healthy and good medicine. Father my gracious God, because you have overcome our world, we have every reason to be cheerful. Through your victory over “the cross” nothing will be able to separate us, in life’s paths, from your love for us. When we think about this with a humble heart, we can let cheer fill our heart and bring a joy into the expressions on our face.
This joy can bring good health – spiritually, emotionally and physically. So we should fill our minds with thankful thoughts and be overflowing with joy.

And so today….take the time to praise God for all that He is, for all our blessings flow from Him. Let him fill you with Light and Life because when He Created us, he designed us to be “full” of his heavenly contents. So as his nourishment flows into our being, it will strengthen us and produce good health.  BE OF GOOD CHEER!

Proverbs 17:22

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Prayer

Jesus, hear my prayer. I wish to fill my heart and soul every day with the nourishment that only YOU provide. I know that nothing can separate me from your Love. I have perfect peace and confidence in You, and I thank you for the certainty that “you have overcome this world.” Amen

HOPE is the anchor of my soul. In HOPE I am firm and secure. HOPE keeps me safe in the middle of life’s storms. My Savior God you died to pay the penalty for “my sin” and then you rose again, to give me your living HOPE. I know that you are alive in me….and I am connected to you in HOPE. Hope is my “holy” anchor that keeps me secure in life’s toughest storms.

Scripture

Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold fast the confession of our Hope without wavering, for HE who promised is faithful.

1 Peter 1:3

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Prayer

Jesus….I feel wild waves rocking my boat, but my anchor and my HOPE is secure in YOU. Amen

Friday – October 15th – 7:17 am

Oh what a beautiful morning!

I rise early these days. I have realized that early is the most amazing time of each new day. God is with us. His beautiful sunrise is amazing to me. It gives me inner strength. It reminds me of His Sovereign plan and presence. I cannot do anything……, but bow my head and pray. My days are numbered. His Sun/Son puts everything into perspective. Lord, May I honor you today. Forgive my transgressions. Hear my prayer. Thank you for life. I want to make the most of every new day.

My appointment today has rescheduled to next Wednesday. So I will visit my most recent garden sights to check that all is looking good. It’s my pleasure to do so. I walk my chosen path and I know you are always with me. I choose to spread blessings to all in my path.

As It Is Written:

”No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.”

1 Corinthians 2-9

KNOW WHAT YOU ARE!

October 1

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
-Ephesians 2:10

LISTEN TO THE DEVOTIONAL
rabbit came upon a rattlesnake in the woods. The rattlesnake hissed, “I know what you are! You have big ears, a fluffy tail, and a wiggly nose… You’re a rabbit! The rabbit replied, “I know what you are, too! You have beady eyes, a big mouth, a slick appearance, and diamonds all over you. You’re a televangelist!”

It’s important to know what you are. Our verse tells us we’re God’s workmanship, from a Greek word meaning “masterpiece.” Did you get that? You are – I am – God’s masterpiece created for good works. We are not saved by these works; we are saved by grace through faith. But God has saved us for a purpose – to serve Him and make Him known by good works done in His name. So jump off God’s easel, masterpiece, and get to work today

United Methodists believe in making a reality of their faith in community — actions speak louder than words. The three simple rules are: “Do no harm. Do good. Stay in love with God.” Some beliefs we share with other Christians are: the Trinity (God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and Jesus’ birth, His death and Resurrection into Heaven

I am a Methodist. I am a believer. I am a lover of my God and Savior Jesus Christ, and all His creation. If you need help, I am here to help you. If you want prayer I will pray for you and with you. I wish to do you no harm. I wish to do good for all, and I wish to stay in love with my God and share His divine love with YOU. .

In the name of the Father,

and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.

John 8:32

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Proverbs 29:25

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

Jesus said, “put your trust in Me, and I will keep you safe.” For I alone know the deep, deep yearning in your soul for safety and security. You can try to hide these feelings for a time, but only for a short time. These deeply held feelings serve a very great purpose. Used correctly they can point you to me….. your all sufficient Lord and Savior. Only I can really keep you safe.

When feelings of insecurity come…..come to me. Talk to me. I know your fears and concerns, and you can begin then to trust in me. Lay your heart on me. As you speak your anxious feelings, you are connecting with me on a deep level. I will help you push away at the darkness of deception and bring my truth. For the evil one prowls around looking to deceive. Do not listen to his lies. Above all else, put your trust in me, for I am affirming and absolute truth. As you come to know me and trust me, My Truth will make you better and better  –  and You will be increasingly free.

John 11:6

Jesus said to [Thomas], “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Prayer

i come to you Jesus. I give you my broken and yearning heart. I know that “only You” can fill me. I trust only in You, for I know your truth shall set me free and always keep me safe. Amen

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”

Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is with you and taking care of you in the best possible way. Sometimes if you are suffering His care may feel imperfect. You seek relief but he makes you wait. Just remember there are many different ways to wait. Some are better than others. In waiting look into his continual love for you. Trust Him, and know that He loves you. Trust that He knows what he is doing and that He can bring all good out of everything. Jesus is the Lord of your future and He has good things in store for you. He alone knows the things He has planned for you and His plan gives you a future and hope.

Lamentations 3:25

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him
